Dress-HerBridalParty/Sweater-Old Navy/Shoes-Target/Hairband-Anthropologie

Who has the one of the greatest dresses in the world? I DO!!!! It seems like the weddings this year have been endless!!! I was recently asked to be , yes you guessed it, a bridesmaid. As you can imagine,  the Bride had many tasks to do and asked me to pick out a dress for the girls. Even though these last couple of months have been crazy I was excited to see what I could find. After numerous attempts to find somewhere that had enough dresses, the right color, all the sizes needed and something that everyone would like I found one!!!!! Infinity Dresses have been out for a few years now( maybe longer) and I never thought about purchasing one. However, I thought this would be the best bet given the short amount of time that we had to get the dresses in.

I ordered the dresses from HerBridalParty on Etsy. I know some people are reluctant to ordering online but this seller had great reviews and has quick responses to my emails. (Hint-Something to look for when ordering from personal sellers.) When I received the dress a few weeks after I was more than impressed. The fabric was stretchy but silky. Infinity dresses have two one size fit all sizes(1.2-16 and 2.17-26).  I purchased the maxi, however there is a knee length version as well. The best part is that you can wear it again and again and again. You can wear this dress up or down. Wear it as a dress ( in over 25 ways) or in a skirt style. And the best part is it comes in over 12 colors. I WANT THIS DRESS IN EVERY COLOR!

The wonderful owner at HerbridalParty has gifted this holiday season all B&W readers with a discount code .When you check out use bowsandwhistles1 and received 10% of your purchase. Please take advantage of this discount it only last till January 5th.

Hope that your holidays are treating you well so far. I have a some DIY’s and Recipes and a surprise to announce this month so stay tuned!

Stay classy, make it a good one!

DIY- Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte

title

Hello my Loves,

Happy Friday! As most of you know fall is my favorite time of year. It just makes me so HAPPY. Fall/Winter is also the time when everyone thinks it is necessary to walk around with a Boots, a scarf and cup from Starbucks. For some reason it makes people feel like the season is really here. 😉  Recently, I have been trying to save money anyway I can. As much as I love Starbucks it can really make your wallet thin. In addition, I have recently started to change my eating habits and want to cut some of the calories (Like 200!!!). What better way than just making it from HOME! I have came up with a recipe that saves you an extra 5 bucks in your wallet(for holiday shopping) and lighter calories( to use on holiday food). ok lets get started already!

Here is What you will Need:

1234PIL

1 Cup Coffee (preferably Bold Roast)- 10 Cents

1 1/2 Tbsp Pumpkin Pie Spice-. 25 cents

1 Cup Almond or Soy Milk .25 Cents

2 Tbsp- Brown Sugar .01 Cent

1 Tbsp Pumpkin Puree .25 Cents

1 Tbsp Whipped Cream (optional)  .25 Cents

1/4  Tbsp Vanilla Extract- .01 Cent

 Your favorite Mug (FREE)

Prep Time- 5 Min

Simply add each ingredient one at a time while you whisk. I was trying to keep each cup under 100 Calories so I did not add to much sweetener but feel free to do so if you would like.

IMG_2587

This is optional but add whipped cream and pumpkin spice on the top to top it all off.

IMG_2584

P.S- Like iced drinks better? Add ice 😉

And there you have it folks  a .87 cents,100 Calorie Latte made by you. I would love to hear how yours turns out. Email me at Samanthahylton@gmail.com or hashtag your pics on instagram #B&WPumpkinLatte.

Falling for Bows

edit2

Hello my wonderful people,

I have returned!!! It’s about time right? I apologize for my absence but I’m back! So it is officially fall, my favorite time of the year. Time for leaves, cool weather and amazing fashion. Is it just me or is this year going by really fast? Maybe it’s because I’m on a non stop schedule so pretty much every day is the same and everything runs together.

I was recently gifted some goodies from Iyannaklondon. One of which was this beautiful black and white chevron bow. Although I am not a bow person I thought the designs were too cute to pass up. For those of you that don’t only like to wear bows in their hair, I came up with a few different combos that you can change up for the fall season.

IMG_2541

Hair-Of course the first one is pretty simple. I have mine attached to a stretchy hairband but feel free to put your hair half up or down or to the side. Whatever flatters you best 😉

IMG_2547

Bowtie– This pattern is so fun I couldn’t resist. This chevron black and white print is so easy to style. I simply added it to the top of my collared top.

IMG_2554

Belt– Adding a bow to your belt is a great way to spice up your outfit. I would suggest to add it to a skinny so you don’t overpower the outfit and the size of the bow.

Good news, if you are obsessed with bows, you can purchase this bow and others like these when you click here. And all Bows and Whistles readers get 45% off by using code “BWFALL” at checkout!

**thank you to my friends at Iyannaklondon **

Until next time,

BIY (Bake-It-Yourself) S’mores Pie

late

Hello My lovely’s and Happy Tuesday to you,

If you follow me on Instagram you know that my husband and I are attempting to eat more healthy this year. However that does not say that we never have a sweet tooth. Ever since my husbands 26th Birthday Surprise Party I have been craving a good old fashion s’more. Although we currently don’t have a fire pit ( on my to get list) I wanted to make something that would satisfy my cravings. So what better thing to do than Pintrest!

There are numerous s’more recipes online. S’more cookies, S’more cupcakes, S’more brownies and although all of these sounded great I wanted to make something that would be just enough to fill my sweet tooth( and Chris) lol.

So I decide to do a S’more pie. I found this desert to be a little more costly. This pie will cost you about $10 unless you have these supplies already at home. If so you’ll save a bit of money. Lets get started.

What you will need:

1/2 Cup of butter, room temperature

1/4 Cup of brown sugar (1)

1/2 Cup sugar

1 Large egg

1 tsp Vanilla Extract (6)

1 1/3 Cups of all purpose flour

3/4 cup of graham crackers, crushed (3)

1 tsp of baking powder

1/4 tsp Salt

6 regular sized Milk chocolate bars (e.g Hershey’s)- This comes in a pack of 6 (5)

1 1/2 Cups of marshmallow cream/fluff (not melted marshmallows) (2)

IMG_1878

IMG_1877

IMG_1866

Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease an 8-inch square baking pan.

IMG_1880

In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light. Beat in egg and vanilla. In a small bowl, whisk together flour, graham cracker crumbs, baking powder and salt. Add to butter mixture and mix at a low speed until combined.

IMG_1883

IMG_1899
Place chocolate bars over graham cracker crust. Then place the Hershey’s bars in pan. feel free to break the chocolate (if necessary) . Spread chocolate with marshmallow creme or fluff. Place dough in a single layer on top of the fluff. This does not have to be perfect. If there is any openings the marshmallow will just come through which makes it even better 😉

Bake for 30 to 35 minutes, until lightly browned. Cool completely before cutting into bars.

IMG_1912

P.S- You can also drizzle a few more cracker crumbs and chocolate on top to make it extra sweet!

I was so please on how the pie turned out. Email me and let me know how yours turned out!

Stay Sweet,

-Sam

Shake it!

Hello my loves,

So as most of you know, my husband had to preach at a conference in New York. Originally, we were not going to go, however, at the last minute we changed our minds and decided we needed a little getaway.

photo7

You would think the many times that we travel in New York that we get to have more leisure time, however, that just doesn’t happen as much as we would like. So I made my husband promise me that every time we go we must do at lease one thing on our checklist. One of the things listed was going Shake Shack in the City. Although it is very unhealthy (I don’t want to talk about it) my husband and are on a mission to find the worlds best burger. So we thought that this would be a great place to start.

photo6

We decided to be as spontaneous as possibly could be and get the shake burger. (lol) It was truly yummy though!

photo1

It was not the best burger that we ever had but it is so worth going back to again. Everything from the food and the service was great and I’m so happy we had a chance to stop by and experience the SHACK!

Have you ever been before? If so, email me and let me know how you liked it!

Until next time, make it a good one,

Happy Weekend Everyone,

I was recently gifted by IyannakLondon a few head bands which I wore in my last post(here). I was so happy about this because I LOVE HEADBANDS! Headbands are so versatile and you can style them in so many different ways. Today I have the “Goddess” headband. This is a double striped gold band made custom to fit your head. This is awesome because my head dimensions are usually smaller than the ones in stores. This beats having to bobby pin or tie them in the back. They are made just for you. IyannakLondon sent me some extra headbands and I am please to announce my first giveaway.(Please see the below)

Happy Thursday!!!!

Hope everyone is having a wonderful week thus far. For those of you that don’t know my beautiful mother, here she is! I thought her outfit was adorable on Sunday and felt that it was an appropriate to feature her on B&W. Just a note- you can still be classy and fun at the same time. In todays blog she is wearing a teal pencil skirt with a oversized shear light mustard buttoned up top paired with nude pointed toe shoes. I better step up my game she’s getting pretty good at this!

Fashion Tip– For a more classy /sleek feel wear nude shoes to mute down a colorful outfit.
